Academic Goals

  1. One of my academic goals for the next 10 week term is to pass the CAHSEE math test so I won't have to take it anymore. The way I am going to do this is taking my math classes or asking Connie for help on the problems I don't know how to solve.
  2. My second academic goal for this 10 week term is to get at least five credits in. The way I am going to do this is coming to school and doing extra work at home and turn it in before grading period ends.
  3. One personal goal is to get my Driver's License around this month of February the way I am going to this is to get an appointment.
  4. I reached at least 1%of the goals I made for myself which is good at least.

The Kite Runner

  1. The character that changes in the story is Amir because he was selfish and mean to Hassan. Amir would make fun of Hassan because he couldn't read so he would make up a story. Amir sees Hassan get raped by a bully named Assef. Amir changes throughout the book for the better. Amir unites with Hassan in Kabul and they get along but Hassan gets killed and they take his son Sohrab. Amir finds out Hassan was his step brother by Rahim Khan Baba's bestfriend and sets out to find his nephew Sohrab. Amir finds Sohrab in the hands of Assef his long time enemy. Sohrab raped and beaten makes Amir frustrasted who battles with Assef to get Sohrab. Amir beaten badly wins Assef and flees with his nephew Sohrab. Amir decides to adopt Sohrab and takes him to the U.S to live with him and his wife Soraya.

  2. I personally enjoyed the novel better because I could picture the novel of how things happened as I read. I could picture the city of Kabul like the streets with dirt and the woman wearing there Burqas. The movie was good but the book always has more facts and details. I personally like to read books.

  1. My favorite character is Soraya because she is an understanding wife to Amir. Soraya who cannot have children agrees to adopt Amir's nephew Sohrab. The character I disliked was Assef because he is a bully who rapes Hassan and then rapes his son Sohrab. Assef gets what he deserves.

  1. My favorite scene in the book is the ending because Amir adopts Sohrab and they live in the U.S with his wife Soraya. The ending shows Amir flying a kite with Sohrab and Amir sees hapiness in Sohrab's face.

My Bridge

I am entering my bridge for compitition they are going to put weight on it to see how much it could handle. My bridge is compiting with other bridges. Some people are using their's for looks instead of weight. My bridge was made of tiny sticks glued to each other of a height of 5". The glue I used was Elmer's Glue. I hope my bridge holds at most 30 pounds before it breaks. My goal is for the bridge to hold 30 pounds at most.

The population of Afganistan is 32 million people.
There are eight ethnic groups in Afganistan. Amir belongs to the group of Pashtuns and Hassan belongs to the group called Hazaras.

The major religion in Afganistan is Islam.
The two ethnic groups in Afganistan are the Pashtuns and the Tajiks.
The main language of the Pashtuns is Pastu.
Pashtuns are so influential in Afganistan because they are the higher group and the lower groups help them out.

Most Hazara reside in the central Afganistan mountain region called "Hazarajet."

Hazaras belong to the Sunni sect.

New Years Resolution

  1. One of my New Years Resolution is to come to school on time.

The way I am going to do this is to try to get frequent rest and take frequent naps because I am usually up all day and don't take naps and I sleep at 12:00 a.m in the morning. I will set up an alarm clock and wake up when it rings.

  1. My second New Years Resolution is to be dedicated to one thing at a time.

The way I am going to do it is to finish one task at a time because usually, I start cleaning my house and I get distracted and I end up not cleaning or doing nothing. I am going to have to finish one thing at a time and finish it then pass to the next assignment.

  1. My last New Years Resolution is to lose two pounds this month because I am over my weight limit.

The way I am going to do it is be more active walk more and less driving the car. I could take my son for a walk around the block and we even have a park nearby, I could play with my son or run around the park and have his dad watch him.

Kite Runner 1st part

My favorite character for the novel so far is Baba Amir's father because Baba caught my attention he is so hardheaded he has an illness and he is going to die pretty soon if he doesn't get the help he needs. Although, Baba is sick he appreciates his son hospitality. The character I most hate is Assef because he is a bully and is one of the boy's who rapes Hassan. I think the largest theme of the book is how, Amir is living his life from Pashtun to the United States and the girl he likes and meets Saraya.
